Sales Development Representative - EOR
Location: EMEA (GMT to +4 GMT) Remote

Background
Workpay was founded in Kenya in 2019 and expanded to Nigeria in 2021 and South Africa in 2023. In this time, we have more than doubled in size. Our core product is Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) that enables organizations to manage leave, benefits, and payroll; then to pay employees; while we handle their statutory remittances. We also provide Employer of Record (EoR) services, enabling organizations outside South Africa to efficiently engage local employees without the cost, risk, and hassle of incorporation, contracting, and tax filing, which we handle for them.
Role Overview
Workpay seeks an experienced sales representative to assist in expanding our customer base through consistent lead generation and cultivation. The sales development representative's responsibilities include generating potential leads, soliciting potential customers, facilitating sales, attending events across EMEA to collect leads, and ultimately connecting leads with the right salesperson to close the deal. To be a successful sales development representative, you should have excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. You should also demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines and have strong analytical and mathematical skills.
Objectives of this role
- Represent the company’s products and services, using comprehensive knowledge as well as consumer research to explain how our solutions meet customer needs
- Generate leads and build relationships by nurturing warm prospects and finding potential new sales opportunities
- Manage and maintain a pipeline of interested prospects and engage sales executives in the following steps.
- Identify best practices for refining the company’s lead-generation playbook.
Responsibilities
- Building the sales funnel by generating leads via personalized outreach to potential customers
- Handling incoming queries and building good client relationships
- Conducting cold calls, emails, and social outreach to target prospects using sales prospecting and automation tools as well as social channels (eg: LinkedIn, Apollo, Hubspot, etc)
- Completing communication sequences in line with the sales process including reach-outs and prompt follow-up communication to nurture leads and prospects
- Ensuring all leads are well qualified by identifying the correct decision-makers based on the qualification framework (eg: BANT)
- Identifying new sales opportunities and potential growth areas
- Achieving and exceeding assigned sales targets and quotas
- Passing qualified leads to the Business Development Executives with the objective of closing the sale.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Commerce
- Minimum 2 years of proven experience in Saas Sales
- Experience working with Accountants is a bonus
- Thorough understanding of marketing and negotiating techniques
- Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
- Aptitude in delivering attractive presentations
- Proven success of hitting targets
