Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our growing tech company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with potential clients, and driving revenue growth. This role requires a highly skilled professional with expertise in writing compelling proposals, negotiating contracts, and managing client relationships throughout the sales lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Business Opportunity Identification:

  • Research and identify new business opportunities in the technology sector, including new markets, partnerships, and potential clients.
  • Conduct market analysis and competitive research to understand trends, customer needs, and industry demands.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective clients, including startups, enterprises, and government organizations.
  • Engage in networking, attending industry events, and utilizing platforms like LinkedIn to generate leads and build a network of potential clients.

2. Proposal Writing & Bid Management:

  • Lead the preparation, development, and submission of high-quality proposals, RFP responses, and bids for new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (technical, product, legal, etc.) to ensure proposals are comprehensive, accurate, and tailored to the client’s needs.
  • Develop compelling sales materials, including presentations, case studies, and white papers, to support proposals and pitches.
  • Ensure proposals align with company goals, pricing strategies, and service offerings.
  • Manage all aspects of the proposal process, including timelines, stakeholder coordination, and client follow-up.

3. Client Relationship Management:

  • Act as the main point of contact for clients throughout the sales cycle, from initial contact through to contract signing and beyond.
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with new and existing clients, becoming a trusted advisor on technology solutions.
  • Conduct regular meetings with clients to discuss their business challenges, propose solutions, and address any concerns.
  • Gather feedback from clients post-sale to ensure customer satisfaction and identify opportunities for future business.

4. Sales Strategy & Execution:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to achieve revenue and growth targets.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align sales strategies with company goals and market positioning.
  • Prepare accurate sales forecasts and reports, tracking performance against targets and KPIs.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to effectively position the company’s offerings.
  • Negotiate contracts and close deals, ensuring favorable terms for both the client and the company.

5. Collaboration with Internal Teams:

  • Work closely with marketing, product, and technical teams to ensure alignment in service offerings, messaging, and overall strategy.
  • Provide valuable client insights and feedback to internal teams for product improvement and innovation.
  • Support the onboarding process for new clients and ensure smooth handoffs to the account management and delivery teams.

6. Continuous Improvement & Learning:

  • Continuously evaluate and improve business development strategies and proposal processes.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices for business development and proposal writing.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to improve skills and knowledge related to business development, sales, and proposal management.


Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field. Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.
  • Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a similar role within the technology industry, with a focus on writing proposals and responding to RFPs.
  • Proven track record of successfully winning new business and building strong client relationships.
  • Experience in developing and executing business development strategies in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
  • Strong understanding of the technology landscape and familiarity with SaaS, IT services, and/or software solutions.
  • Skills & Competencies:
  • Proposal Writing: Exceptional writing skills, with experience in developing detailed, persuasive proposals, RFPs, and business documents.
  • Sales & Negotiation: Strong ability to negotiate contracts, close deals, and manage client expectations effectively.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Relationship Management: Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners.
  • Project Management: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze market trends, client needs, and competitor strategies to inform business development decisions.
  • Technical Aptitude: Familiarity with IT solutions, software products, and technology services, with the ability to translate technical details into business value for clients.
  • CRM & Proposal Tools: Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and proposal management tools (e.g., Proposify, PandaDoc).
